The International Hotels & Restaurant Association (IH&RA) hosted its 42nd Annual Congress, “Orient Express: Destination China! New Markets, New Competition” at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, October 28-30 in Beijing, China.
The conference included lively keynotes and panel discussions focused on branding; investment and development opportunities in China and the Asia Pacific; China inbound and outbound tourism; international hospitality trends, sustainable tourism and corporate social responsibility; training, education and human resources; and the very latest from the e-distribution battleground.
Election of new Leadership for IH&RA was one of the hottest subjects on the agenda, Dr. Ghassan Aidi, President, Cham Palaces & Hotels and Chairman, Royal Regency International Hotels (U.S.A) and the Vice President for Arab Union for hotel and tourism was elected as a vice president of IH&RA, and Mr. Dieter Huckstien President of Conrad Hotels by Hilton was elected president.
Dr.Ghassan Aidi is very active in the U.S.A, Europe, and the Middle East region; he has been a great advocate in promoting global tourism issues in the region. His contributions to the Industry and Associations are invaluable during the last 25 years.
Actually he is the President of Cham Palaces and Hotels U.S.A in Syria and Jordan as well as Chairman of Royal Regency International Hotels a U.S. company based in Washington, DC.
